Lantern Floating Ceremony by Naomi Hayes on Flickr.
The Lantern Floating Ceremony is an annual event in Hawaii that happens on May 25. On this day over 2,000 candle-lit lanterns are released onto the ocean. The lanterns express a wish for all beings to value one another and cooperate in creating a better world. It is a chance to offer a personal remembrance or prayer for departed loved ones by placing their names on a lantern.
